Nkhotakota has many lodges, both close to the lake, close to the nicest beaches, and close to the boma (where the festival is happening), and the prices range from MK 2000 to more than MK 25 000. Something for any taste, that is.
Nkhotakota is situated by the shore of Lake Malawi, which means you can enjoy a swim in the lake while you’re here. There are several lodges where you can live by the beach, and they are situated about 30 minutes by car outside the boma (the town center). There are also many lodges situated closer to the festival site, where you can easily get to the festival by foot. It is also easy to take a motorbike to the beach for a day trip if you stay in the boma.

Lodges by the lake Harbour, and closer to the boma
These lodges are situated by the lake, but the beaches down here are not cleaned for swimming like the ones at the “beach lodges” above. You can get to the festival area by dumper (bicycle taxi), and it takes about 15 minutes.
